Scripture at Sunrise 3.2.09

Happy 12th Anniversary!
Here’s just a little recap of what the Lord taught me while His word was expounded yesterday.

Sunday School (Steve Dawson-Ezra 1)
“In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing…” -Ezra 1:1
This verse encouraged me to pray for our President (a command in I Timothy 2:1-4) because it truly is the Lord that turns the heart of the king (Proverbs 21:1) and He has before, so why not now?!

Morning Service (Pastor Steve Wainright- Colossians 1:23-25)
“Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church…”  -Colossians 1:24
Paul is suffering in prison because of his great love for Jesus Christ that has produced a deep love for the Jews (Romans 10).
It is not how broad your mission field is, but how DEEP it is.

Evening Service (Roger Harden – Romans 1:14-19; 5:8-11)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”  -Romans 1:16
vs. 14- Paul is in debt to the guy picking up the garbage and in debt to a professor at UK.  The Gospel is not a respecter of persons.  Paul will share the Gospel with Agrippa or with his cellmates.
Some of Bro. Roger’s Quotable Quotes
We as believers sometimes forget just how wretched we really are.
We don’ walk away from the cross at our conversion.  We need to continue to gaze upon it.
The Gospel doesn’t need to be dressed up.
Rejoice in your salvation!
Though we are not experiencing what saints in Heaven are right now, we are just as secure as they are!

Make the world background music and focus on glorifying God.

For those who are wondering, the pictures from yesterday will be up ASAP!  Praise the Lord for such a wonderful day celebrating His finished work on the cross and the work He has done at NLBC!
