“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” -1 John 2:1-2
-Propitiation=Subsitute, but even further, the wrath of God was satisfied AND His favor was bestowed upon us!
-We have to be motivated by the love of God. What’s your motivation? Are you trying to impress the world?
Morning Worship | 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” -1 Corinthians 1:10
-If you are in fellowship with the Lord, you are in fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ. (Philippians 2:5)
-Desire to live, speak and provoke others to the glory of God.
“For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.” -1 Corinthians 1:17
-The good news becomes good news only when you realize the bad news.
-Only when you see yourself as a sinner in need of a Savior can you love what Christ has done.
-When you realize His love for you, you are drawn with cords of love to Him.
Evening Worship | Exodus 40:1-37
“Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.” -Exodus 40:34
-God delivered Israel out of bondage and continued to deliver them for His glory.
-He has delivered us from the bondage of sin and continues to deliver us for His glory.
-The Israelites had obeyed God’s instructions concerning the tabernacle, built it and consecrated it and they were anticipating God’s glory coming down on it.
-vs. 35- No one can come into the presence of Almighty God without blood. Don’t get too laid back with the holiness of God.
-Jesus Christ fulfilled all these protypes: lampstand, shewbread, basin, shakinah glory, etc.!!!!
-God promised His guiding presence, blessings, protection and providence. (vs. 36-38)
-He has promised never to leave or forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)
-He has delivered us. He is delivering us. Our Deliverer is coming!
