“For it was fitting that He, for Whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the Founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. For He Who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why He is not ashamed to call them brothers…” -Hebrews 2:10-11
>The Father (who has no lack of resources or power) brings His adopted children to glory by making the Captain of our salvation perfect through suffering. Jesus is not the Messiah in spite of suffering, but because of His suffering.
>In every major religion, it is basically taught that you get to go to a good place based on good things you have done. Christianity is different. You get to go to a good place because of good things someone else has done.
>Our paradise was lost when the First Adam succumbed to temptation and sin entered the world. Our paradise was gained when the Second Adam provided salvation through resisting temptation.
>Jesus is as much human as if He weren’t God at all, but He is as much God as if He weren’t human at all.
>Because of Christ’s suffering, we know more about the depths of God’s grace and His love. (Psalm 22; Hebrews 2:12)
