“Witnesses to the Messiah”

1)Simeon (vs. 25-35): an ordinary man who had been declared righteous by Almighty God because of his faith in Jesus Christ and had been set apart, waiting for the comfort of Israel to come(Isaiah 40:1). He knew the Messiah would come before he died. [How would you live or change your life if you knew that Christ was returning before you died?] He was filled with the Holy Spirit and led by the Spirit. He came to the temple at exactly the right time to see God’s salvation in the face of Jesus Christ, who was salvation not just for the Jews, but also for the Gentiles!

2)Anna (vs. 36-38): a teacher of truth who was about 104 years old and abode in the temple area, fasting and praying often. She was also led by the Spirit, coming at the perfect time to see the Messiah. She gave thanks to God and bore witness to the Messiah!

If the light has been shone in your heart, it is your duty to tell all about what He’s done!
