Sis. Jennie Estes Meets Her Savior Face-to-Face

JennieOne of our dear sisters in Christ met her Savior face-to-face Saturday evening.  Jennie Roccella Estes, 89, of Lexington, widow of Charles, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013. Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosa Roccella. She was a homemaker and former member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church where she worked and volunteered for a number of years. For many years now, she has been a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Diana Hanks; a son, Randle Estes (Patricia) of Ft. Myers, FL; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 31 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road by Pastor Steve Wainright. Visitation will be from noon until time of services. Burial will follow in Georgetown Cemetery. Contributions may be made to New Life Baptist Church.

It is hard to think of a finer example of a faithful saint who served in so many ways, often unseen, with so much joy. Sis. Jennie was a godly lady who loved the Lord and treasured His Word. While we will miss her here, we rejoice that her mind is now clear, she is free of pain, and she’s singing praises to her King in His very presence. We send much love to her precious family and pray that the solid godly legacy she leaves will continue through generations.

“Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD,
that delighteth greatly in His commandments.
His seed shall be mighty upon earth:
the generation of the upright shall be blessed.”

{Psalm 112:1-2}
