Scripture at Sunrise 11.25.2013

Sunday Evening| Pastor Steve Wainright | 1 Samuel 14:47-15:11
The word of the Lord came to Samuel: “I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not performed My commandments.” And Samuel was angry, and he cried to the Lord all night. -1 Samuel 15:10-11

Partial obedience is still disobedience. Saul did not fulfill God’s Word.

Saul was instructed to completely and utterly destroy the Amalekites. He was looking good in verses 4-7, but then in verses 8-9, Saul kept King Agag and all that he saw that was best alive. He spared the best of evil, but even the best of evil is still evil.

  1. So glad Paul and I attended this message from God you delivered to us. It was just what we both needed to hear. Feeling really low and just plain ornery … weren’t going to go to evening church … but God led us there … and needed to hear how God views what obedience is and is not. Thank you for being His instrument for delivering His Word … you have been called by God.
