Scripture at Sunrise 9.28.2016

“You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before Him.’ The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. He must increase, but I must decrease.” -John 3:28-30

Our times and purposes on this earth are temporary. Times change. God’s plans for each are different and we do not dictate the terms of our service.

John the Baptist understood the sovereignty of God, he knew who he was and what his place was, and he had a right view of his service. His response to this transition in his ministry is an example for us.

“Whatever it is that glorifies my Master, that’s what I want.”
