“Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.” -Romans 3:27-28
Here’s Paul’s conclusion. Here’s the bottom line. Paul says, “This is it!”: that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. You don’t have to produce works to be saved. That was accomplished when Christ died upon Calvary–when He died upon that cross. He died for my sins that I might be justified in the sight of God. God declares me righteous because of the finished work of Christ. I can’t boast about what I did; I can boast about what Christ did for me. He did it all! Jesus paid it all!
