Scripture at Sunrise 8.16.2017

“I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from fall your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes and be careful to obey My rules.” -Ezekiel 36:24-27

Notice the pronouns. God doesn’t tell them to do anything. He says He’s going to do it. He takes a dead sinner and transplants their old stony heart with a heart of flesh. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Wednesday Evening Sermon from Ezekiel 36

Scripture at Sunrise 8.9.2017

“For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.” -Romans 8:19-21

Things are decaying all around us, but this creation will be delivered from this bondage of corruption when God unveils the glory that’s in His children. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Sunday Morning Sermon from Romans 8

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory…” -Colossians 1:27

How do we have any hope of loving anybody else? Christ in us, the hope of glory. –excerpt from John Mark Hatcher’s Sunday Morning Sermon from John 17

Scripture at Sunrise 7.12.2017

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. -2 Corinthians 12:9-10
No believer is too weak to be used mightily by God except those who are too dependent on their own strength. -Burk Parsons via Twitter

Scripture at Sunrise 6.21.2017

“Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay My vengeance upon them.” -Ezekiel 25:17
Israel had many godless neighbors and was not a witness like they should have been. Likewise, when we compromise and become tolerant of sin, our witness has no weight. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Wednesday Evening Sermon

Scripture at Sunrise 6.7.2017

“When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, ‘Rabbi, when did You come here?’ Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on Him God the Father has set His seal.'” -John 6:25-27
Jesus doesn’t always answer what you ask, but always responds with what you need. -excerpt from Anthony Vance’s Sunday Evening Sermon

Scripture at Sunrise 5.31.2017

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” -Galatians 6:7-8
God’s Word gets blunt to show us how sinful sin is. When you prostitute yourself out to sin, it becomes your master and controls your life. False promises soon fade.
Sexual gratification lasts only for a moment, but leads to death, disease, and broken relationships. Sinning ultimately says that you’re not satisfied with God. -excerpts from Steve Wainright’s Wednesday Evening Sermon
