Scripture at Sunrise 11.2.09

Sunday School | 1 John 5:13-21 | Bro. Roger Harden
“I write these things to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.  And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.”  -1 John 5:13-14

We have everything to be thankful for and to be joyful about in Christ because He has given us eternal life.  If He has given us eternal life, rest assured that He will take care of the rest.  (Matthew 6:33)

Morning Worship | 1 Corinthians 3:18-23 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“…you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.”  -1 Corinthians 3:23
Ways to Prevent Division:
1)Don’t be impressed by your own wisdom.  If everyone is submitted to the Word of God, there will be unity.  (vs. 18-20)
2)Prefer teachers who teach truth, who are faithful to God’s Word, are living a godly life and are filled with the knowledge of God.  (vs. 21)
3)Know how to handle your possessions.  God has given us: [a]Some good preachers and good books.  Glean from their knowledge.  [b]The  world.  Only the redeemed child can see the world’s beauty as a gift from the Creator.  [c]Life!  Eternal life!  (John 10:10)  [d]Death.  It ushers us into the very presence of Christ.  (1 Corinthians 15:54-55; Galatians 2:20)  [e]The present.  He’s using all the events in your life to mold you into the image of His Son.  (Romans 8:28; Psalm 119:71,75)  [f]The future.  What’s to come: Heaven!  (Romans 8:17)
vs. 23- If your life is hid with Christ in God, how can there be division?

Evening Worship | Leviticus 6:8-23 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“For our sake He made Him to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”  -2 Corinthians 5:21
Ponder God’s holiness.  The sinless Son of God became sin for me.  The Creator gave His life for the creature.  Wow!

Scripture at Sunrise 10.26.09

Sunday School | 1 John 5:1-12 | Bro. Roger Harden
“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”  -1 John 5:12
We have full assurance when we realize that our salvation has nothing to do with what we have done, but everything to do with what He has done for us!

Morning Worship | 1 Corinthians 3:10-18 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.”  -1 Corinthians 3:10
The only foundation that will last is Jesus Christ!  Once He is our foundation, it’s our responsibility to build on it with the rich resources He has given us.  We will be judged for our actions and motives.  If you have wrong actions, motives or attitudes (wood, hay, stubble), they will be consumed.  But, you will be rewarded for what remains standing  (vs. 14).  The rewards we receive will be cast at the Savior’s feet because He alone deserves the glory and is worthy of it!  (Revelation 4)
*How are you building on the foundation that has been laid?

Evening Worship | Leviticus 5:14-6:7 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross.”  -Colossians 2:13-14

We have a great sin-debt.  God has made provision for our sins through His Son.  Our debt has been paid in full by Christ!

Welcome!
We are thrilled about what the Lord is doing in John and Jennifer’s lives.  It’s so exciting to see Him at work in such a powerful way!  Today, we welcomed John back along with Jennifer!  :o)  And…there was a very sweet proposal that happened right after the invitation!  We love you all and are praying for you!

Scripture at Sunrise 10.19.09

Sunday School | 1 John 4:7-21 | Bro. Steve Dawson
“We love because he first loved us.”  -1 John 4:19
Love people from His love.  Be willing to put yourself out for someone else.

Morning Worship | 1 Corinthians 3:1-9 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.  He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. -1 Corinthians 3:7-8
You will be rewarded according to your labor and faithfulness, not your “success” or “numbers.”
Children of God: Positionally, you are in Christ and are sanctified.  So, practically, are you living it out?

Evening Worship | Leviticus 4:1-35 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”  -Hebrews 10:10
God makes provision for atonement (at-one-ment) for each and every one.
Our Lamb has been provided for our sins!  Once for all!
