The Necessity of the New Birth | John 3:1-6 | Anthony Vance
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” -John 3:3
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, … that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. -2 Corinthians 5:17-19
The Effects of Christ’s Love (vs. 14-15) in Your Life
1. [vs. 16] You see people differently. You no longer see them as rich or poor, black or white. You see them as lost or saved.
2. [vs. 16] You see Christ differently. (ex.: Paul in Acts 26:9) (vs. 16)
3. [vs. 17] You have a new beginning! (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 6:15; Ephesians 4:24) John 3- Born again. You don’t have a past, you’re a new creature…a new start. A newborn person doesn’t have a past, only a present and a future!
[vs. 18] The source of all this? God. Your faith in Christ comes from God. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
[vs. 19] God was reconciling us while we were busy rebelling against Him. He didn’t impute our sins into our account, but He put the righteousness of Christ into our account [vs. 21]!
[vs. 20] We each have a ministry…the need to tell others about this reconciliation!
Congratulations to Cecil and Debbie, proud new parents of Sammy (who wouldn’t be proud with a cutie like him)! And a hearty congratulations to Harry and Beath, Sammy’s grandparents! :o) What a beautiful story this little life already has! We pray that he will be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord!
