“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” -1 John 3:1

Prosperity hardens the heart.  –William Wilberforce, as quoted by Francis Chan in Crazy Love, page 90

Scripture at Sunrise 10.6.2010

When you pray, your prayers are heard by the same God who answered Moses’ prayer for water in the desert, the God who gave Abraham and his barren wife a son, and the God who made the slave Joseph second in power only to Pharaoh.  –Francis Chan in Crazy Love, page 116

What will people say about your life in heaven?  Will people speak of God’s work and glory through you?  And even more important, how will you answer the King when He says, “What did you do with what I gave you?”  [Francis Chan, Crazy Love, pg. 174]

Scripture at Sunrise 9.22.2010

“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”  -1 Peter 5:7

Worry implies that we don’t quite trust that God is big enough, powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of what’s happening in our lives.  Stress says that the things we are involved in are important enough to merit our impatience, our lack of grace toward others, or our right grip of control.
