“We remember the fish we ate in Egypt that cost nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic.” – Numbers 11:5

Sin wants you to forget how much it costs.

“We remember the fish we ate in Egypt that cost us nothing.” – Num. 11:5

The Israelites longed to go back to Egypt because they looked on their former slavery with rose-colored glasses.

Sin assures you that its pain was worth its pleasure.

“For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things.” -Psalm 107:9

Creation can’t satisfy us, it has a much higher purpose, that is, to constantly point us to the One who alone us able to satisfy the longing of our hearts. -Paul Tripp via Twitter

“For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” -Romans 1:20

Every glorious thing in creation is a lovingly and carefully placed sign pointing you to a greater glory, the one glory that will only ever satisfy your heart. -Paul Tripp via Twitter

Scripture at Sunrise 9.6.2017

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” -1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is strenuous. Christian love doesn’t give up on people. It’s very much like running a race. You stick with it. -Tim Keller

“And He said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.'” -Ezekiel 37:3-4

Do you ever feel inadequate when witnessing? “Speak to these bones.” Ezekiel knew he was inadequate. He knew it would have to be of God if they lived. Share the Gospel and leave the results up to God. Trust God to do the work. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Wednesday Evening Sermon on Ezekiel 37

Scripture at Sunrise 8.23.2017

“And Moses said to the people, ‘Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” -Exodus 14:13-14

At times, we have so many problems because we fight our own battles. It’s the Lord who fights our battles–it’s our job to trust Him. When we start fighting our own battles, that’s usually when we compound our problems. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Wednesday Evening Sermon on Ezekiel 37:1

Scripture at Sunrise 8.16.2017

“I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from fall your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes and be careful to obey My rules.” -Ezekiel 36:24-27

Notice the pronouns. God doesn’t tell them to do anything. He says He’s going to do it. He takes a dead sinner and transplants their old stony heart with a heart of flesh. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Wednesday Evening Sermon from Ezekiel 36

Scripture at Sunrise 8.9.2017

“For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.” -Romans 8:19-21

Things are decaying all around us, but this creation will be delivered from this bondage of corruption when God unveils the glory that’s in His children. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Sunday Morning Sermon from Romans 8

Sunday Morning Sermon Audio:  Man is Without Excuse
Romans 1:18-20 | Pastor Steve Wainright

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” -Romans 1:18-20

Men are sinners by nature before they are sinners by choice, deserving the wrath of God. God has revealed Himself to ALL men, but often men suppress the truth. We see Him all over creation, all men have experienced the goodness of God, and no man has an excuse that they didn’t know.
