My goodness, what a wonderful Mother’s Day I had in the Lord! I hope you had an equally blessed day.
Sunday School | Esther 3-7| Steve Dawson
“…Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” -Esther 4:16
Can I pick out one point from this lesson? No! There are too many good ones! Here are a few applicational questions for you:
1)Will I be able to stand alone?
2)Will it make a difference?
3)What will I stand for?
4)Will it be worth any and all costs to me personally?
Sunday Morning | Colossians 3:8-11 | Steve Wainright
“But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its Creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.” -Colossians 3:8-11
Put off the old self and put on Christ’s righteousness. [How? Romans 12:2 & get in the Word; Promise? Philippians 1:6]
Sunday Evening | Exodus 32:7-14 | Steve Wainright
“But Moses implored the Lord his God and said, ‘O Lord, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people, whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?” -Exodus 32:11
-While God is giving Moses plans on top of the mountain, Israel is making plans of their own at the bottom of the mountain. (How many times have you been unsatisfied with your life?)
-Moses was sent as an intercessor. In vs. 10, God tested Moses’ pride, purpose and priorities.
-Moses Intercedes:
1)because what God has done for His chosen people. (for us=Ephesians 1:4)
2)reviews and repeats what God has already done.
3)for God’s Name’s Sake. *Moses has a zeal for the glory of God!
4)remembered His covenant.
*Effective prayer will consist of God’s promises and a zeal for His glory.
