Scripture at Sunrise 12.29.2021

“Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” -1 Peter 2:12

Live in such a way that those who know you but don’t know God will come to know God because they know you. -Anonymous

Scripture at Sunrise 9.9.2019

“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” -Luke 6:45

If you want to share the Gospel, continually fill your heart with the Gospel, for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

Scripture at Sunrise 10.18.2017

“I am speaking the truth in Christ–I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit–that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh.” -Romans 9:1-3

Sunday Evening Sermon: The Lamb of God who Heals the Lame | John 5:1-9 | Anthony Vance
One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. -John 5:5-9

This miracle was 38 years in the making. Don’t give up on praying for your loved ones. God is able–in a moment, in an instant–to save a lost man’s soul.

Sunday Evening Sermon: Genuine Faith | John 4:46-54 | Anthony Vance
“The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” And he himself believed, and all his household.” -John 4:53

The greatest demonstration of the nobleman’s faith was that he didn’t just believe, but wanted others to believe also. Oh that God would grant households of faith. Go and tell them what He has done!

Scripture after Sunset 10.17.2016

Sunday Evening Sermon: God’s Providence in Evangelism | John 4:1-10 | Anthony Vance
“Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John (although Jesus Himself did not baptize, but only His disciples), He left Judea and departed again for Galilee. And He had to pass through Samaria. So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there; so Jesus, wearied as He was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.” -John 4:1-6

God is able to use ordinary circumstances to bring about extraordinary conversations that could lead to miraculous conversions.

Scripture at Sunrise 10.12.2016

“but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” -John 4:14

If we desire to be good evangelists, we must look to the Master as our example. It all begins with how we look at people.
All people have the same need. All people have the same Gospel. All people (in Adam) have the same standing with God. All people have the same need for grace.

Scripture at Sunrise 7.13.2016

“Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” -John 3:7-8

We can’t predict the new birth. This should humble us. This should encourage us. For every hopeless person in our lives, we should be encouraged that the wind of God could blow on them at any moment. Pray. Love. Preach. Live. -excerpts from Anthony Vance’s Sunday Evening Sermon
