Sunday Morning | Struggling but VictoriousRomans 7:24-8:1
“Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” -Romans 7:24-8:1

The redeemed man still has the flesh and is still going to battle with the flesh, but we have victory because of what Jesus Christ has done! Though you struggle, there is no condemnation if you are in Christ Jesus. -excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Morning Sermon

You cannot live your life by faith without walking by the Spirit. Your biggest battle is not with Satan, but with yourself, and it’s a continual, moment-by-moment battle. How do you walk by the Spirit? Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.

Sunday Morning | Pastor Steve Wainright | Galatians 3:1-5
“Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?” -Galatians 3:3

Do you really believe you began by the Spirit and then are perfected by your works? HE began it. HE’ll complete it. Philippians 1:6 –  “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Scripture at Sunrise 4.28.2011

“For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh…” -Romans 8:3

Scripture at Sunrise 2.23.2011

“By this we know love, that he laid down His life for us…” -1 John 3:16

This is the Gospel.  The just and loving Creator of the universe has looked upon hopelessly sinful people and sent His Son, God in the flesh, to bear His wrath against sin on the cross and to show His power over sin in the Resurrection so that all who trust in Him will be reconciled to God forever.  -David Platt in Radical
