Sunday School | Philemon 1:1-25 | Bro. Steve Dawson
In everyday life, the paths of Paul, Philemon, and Onesimus probably never would have crossed, but God is sovereign and He had a plan!  Don’t take it for granted when God puts someone in front of you.
1)A Changed Life (vs. 8-11)  Onesimus was a thief and didn’t love his master Philemon.  He ran away.  He ran into Paul, trusted Christ, and now was repentant and submissive.  (In God’s eyes, masters and slaves are equal.  Ephesians 6:1-9)
2)Paul’s Appeal (vs. 12-16) Paul Expected Philemon to be accepting of Onesimus and to treat him like a brother rather than a disobedient slave.
Paul, Philemon, and Onesimus were all submissive to Christ and did everything for His glory!  (Colossians 3:23, Ephesians 6:6)

Morning Worship | 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 | Pastor Steve Wainright
>Some gifts were temporary and some were permanent.  They were all given by the Spirit to serve other people, not exalt yourself.
>The temporary gifts of healing, miracles, tongues and interpretation were God’s stamp of approval on the Gospel message that was being heard for the first time.  They were given to authenticate the Word that was spoken.  (vs. 9-10)
>vs. 8-Word of wisdom=being able to understand God’s Word and apply it to life.  (Preaching, counseling, explaining the Gospel in a simple way!)
-Word of knowledge=interpret what God’s Word is saying and teach it to others
>vs. 9-Faith (saving faith=Ephesians 2:8-9), also given proportionately (people who believe God is going to do big things; ex: George Mueller thanked God for what  He was going to do); Hebrews 11; Matthew 17:20-21; 1 Corinthians 13:2
vs. 9-Healing: Man cannot heal.  God is the only One who heals and He deserves all the glory.  Given to authenticate the Word that was spoken.
-Miracles (only explained by divine intervention); Purpose=John 20:30-31, So that people may have faith in Christ; Acts 2:22 (authenticated the Gospel and its messengers)
vs. 10- Prophecy (proclaim God’s Word); Purpose=to encourage and build u pin faith (ch. 14:3); =the testimony of Jesus (Revelation 19:10)
-The gift of tongues was given to authenticate the Gospel.
*The Holy Spirit gifts each child of God.  God gives of His own will.
*We’re all “idiots” meaning we’re all unique and individually gifted by God as He chooses!

Sunday School | Colossians 3:12-20 | Bro. Roger Harden
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”  -Colossians 3:14
We can’t truly love others until we truly understand how He has loved us.

Morning Worship | 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 | Pastor Steve Wainright
How the Spirit Works Today
A)In the unbeliever: convicts of sin; convices of righteousness that only comes through Christ; convinces of the judgment to come; grants repentance and faith; quickens/gives life to us; changes our “chooser”  (John 3:7-8)
B)In the believer: seals us (Ephesians 1:13); keeps us by His power, which brings assurance and encouragement; progressively sanctifies us; possesses us (Romans 8:9); gives us liberty, making us free to live to the glory of God (2 Corinthians 3:17); raises us from death (Romans 8:11); leadus us (vs. 14); helps our weakness (vs. 26); intercedes for us; assists us in worshipping God; tunes our hearts to sing God’s grace; directs His churches (Acts 13); brings unity within the body by giving us gifts

Difference between spiritual gifts and talent: The Holy Spirit empowers the person who has the spiritual gift.  In Corinth, they were misusing the gifts, bringing pagan beliefs and practices into the church.  He gives us the faith to exercise the gifts He has given us (Romans 12:3)

vs. 4- gifts=charisma>Greek: “charis”>grace (Gifted by God; all because of His grace)
vs. 5- administration>ministries>Greek: “deacon”>to serve (use gifts to serve others, not for your personal use, meant to share); 1 Peter 4:10-11- He gives the ability to serve; Use the gifts to build up the body of believers (ch. 14:12)
vs. 6- diversities of operations>Greek: “energemata”>energy to carry out gifts God has given us
vs. 7- manifestation>made known to edify when you gather together
vs. 11- Every believer has gifts given by the Spirit.  (severally>Greek: “idios”>you’re the only one like you, unique in God’s sight; use same gifts in different ways=The body is edified and Christ gets the glory!)
*Manifest yoru fits for the encouragement of believers and the glory of God!

Evening Worship | Numbers 3 | Bro. Jason Estes
I’ve heard nothing but good things about Bro. Jason’s sermon on Numbers 3.  I was at home with my grandmother, so I didn’t get to listen to it.  (I listened to Bro. Sugrim Ramesar’s message on Ephesians 1.)  So…here’s where you come in! INTERACTIVE POST!!!!  Leave a comment with what you learned from his message!

Missionary Update: The Bratchers

Harold and Marie Bratcher received a call from Manaus on Saturday evening, March 14, that their home in Manaus had been broken into, vandalized, and burglarized.  Thieves took the front security gate off its hinges, broke into their home, and stole their refrigerator, kitchen range, clothes dryer, and other appliances and personal belongings which were loose.  They also tore up doorways to get the appliances out of the house quickly and did other substantial damage and trashing to the house.  Will you give some special offerings to help them make the necessary repairs to their home and replace their appliances?  Designate your special offerings ‘BRATCHER NEEDS’ and we will know what it is for.  We would like to help them get everything back in order before they return to Manaus in June.
