Scripture after Sunset 03.15.2021

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” -Hebrews 13:5-6

When you complain and grumble about your circumstances, you are calling into question the love of God and His goodness in your life.

Contentment in life is only found in the Lord. He alone can satisfy your needs and your longings.

“Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world…” -Philippians 2:14-15

Complaining is never just horizontal, every complaint has verticality to it. Embedded in complaining are questions of God’s wisdom, His nearness, His compassion, His faithfulness, His goodness and His love.  -Paul Tripp via Twitter

Scripture at Sunrise 8.10.2015

Sunday Morning | Pastor Steve Wainright | Stop Your Gongusmos | Philippians 2:14-16
“Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life… -Philippians 2:14-16

Any time in your life that you complain, ultimately you’re complaining against God. When you’re complaining, you’re not trusting God.

You were put in this world to shine and you can’t be a good witness if you’re a complainer. Your character must match up while you hold forth the Word of Life.

Do others see Jesus in you?
