Scripture at Sunrise 07.19.2021

“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” -Proverbs 13:20

Most young people are mostly influenced by their peers rather than those who are older than them. Kids need adults. They need guidance. Children need the counsel of godly older people. -Pastor Josh Wilson (excerpts from Sunday Evening Sermon “Strengthening Our Families #5: Biblical Manhood” from Proverbs 13:20)

Scripture AT SUNRISE 10.5.2020

“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” -Hebrews 11:4

Abel’s life still speaks. What about your life? When you’ve passed from this world, will your life still speak to those who knew you?

-Pastor Steve Wainright (excerpts from Sunday Morning Sermon from Hebrews 11:4 – “The Faith of Abel“)

Scripture at Sunrise 3.9.2020

“…you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” -1 Peter 2:5

Every stone was cut and fitted before it was even placed in the Temple. We are living stones. Before you even knew Christ, God was chiseling you, shaping you to fit into His body. Just as God used David to influence King Hiram of Tyre, He uses people to help form and construct your life, to shape who you are and be fitted for service.

-Steve Wainright (excerpt from Sunday Evening Sermon from 2 Chronicles 2:1-18 — “Solomon’s Greatest Feat“)

Scripture after Sunrise 2.17.2020

“In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen Your people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to You. O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep forever such purposes and thoughts in the hearts of Your people, and direct their hearts toward You.” -1 Chronicles 29:17-18

Your faithfulness to the Lord influences others. (Your unfaithfulness does, too, but in a negative way.)

-Steve Wainright (excerpt from Sunday Evening Sermon from 1 Chronicles 29:16-30 — “The Passing of the Crown)

Scripture at Sunrise 8.12.2019

“But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience…” -2 Timothy 3:10-13

The way you live your life reflects your core beliefs. In this present evil age, we need men and women of faith who are willing to take a stand for truth and not back down. We need men and women who have godly character. Our young people need godly examples to imitate. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Sunday Morning Sermon “Needed: Godly Examples!”

Scripture at Sunrise 3.10.09

“Do not love the world or anything in the world.”  -1 John 2:15

An excerpt from CJ Mahaney’s book titled Worldliness:

Charles Spurgeon, writing 150 years ago, nevertheless speaks poignantly to the problem in the church today: “I believe,” he asserted, “that one reason why the church of God at this present moment has so little influence over the world is because the world has so much influence over the church…Worldliness is growing over the church; she is mossed with it.”
