Scripture at Sunrise 04.07.2022

“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” -Philippians 2:5-8

“Our symbol is a cross, not a ladder.” –Burk Parsons

Scripture at Sunrise 12.30.2021

But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. -Hebrews 1:8

Manger empty. Cross empty. Tomb empty. Throne occupied for eternity!

Scripture at Sunrise 08.30.2021

“I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.” -Revelation 2:3-4

The church at Ephesus had grown complacent. When your love starts waning and pulling away from Jesus Christ, it’s a serious problem. Every work for Christ should be motivated by love. Is your love for the Lord growing? (excerpts from Wednesday Evening Sermon “The Church at Ephesus” from Revelation 2:1-7)

Scripture at Sunrise 7.27.2020

“For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.” -Hebrews 7:19

How do we draw near to God? The law could not create access to God. The only way we can have access to God is through Jesus Christ.

-Steve Wainright (excerpts from Sunday Morning Sermon from  Hebrews 7:11-19 A Greater Priesthood)

Scripture at Sunrise 4.20.2020

“Therefore He had to be made like His brothers in every respect, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For because He Himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.” -Hebrews 2:17-18

Jesus Christ came and took our place and took the wrath of God upon Himself for our sins. God saved us from Himself by sending Christ as our propitiation.

-Steve Wainright (excerpt from Sunday Morning Sermon from Hebrews 2:16-18 — “Our Great High Priest“)

Scripture at Sunrise 4.6.2020

“For it became Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” -Hebrews 2:10

Jesus Christ is the Captain, Founder, Originator, and Pioneer of our salvation. We have assurance of our salvation because of the Captain of our salvation.

-Steve Wainright (excerpt from Sunday Morning Sermon from Hebrews 2:10 — “Fitting to Suffer & Die“)

Scripture at Sunrise 12.2.2019

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” -Titus 2:11-14

Every sin of every person has its remedy in Jesus Christ.

excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Sunday Morning Sermon: “The Grace of God

Scripture at Sunrise 3.25.2019

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.” -1 Timothy 6:9-10

Only Jesus Christ can deliver you from a self-centered, self-focused, self-consuming life. –excerpt from Pastor Steve Wainright’s Sunday Morning Sermon

Scripture at Sunrise 1.11.2017

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” -Romans 5:1-2
Your relationship with God is either one of enmity or one of peace. It all depends on what your relationship is with Christ. -Steve Wainright, Sunday Morning Sermon on Romans 5:1-2
