Scripture at Sunrise 6.22.2016

“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in His Name when they saw the signs that He was doing. But Jesus on His part did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for He Himself knew what was in man.” -John 2:23-25

“True salvation is the whole man responding to the whole Christ. Where there is true faith the mind has been instructed, the heart has been changed, and the will has been broken – and with understanding we come to the Son of God, loving Him, ready to follow. This is the whole man responding to the whole Christ. This is saving faith.” -excerpts from “The Discernment that Determines Salvation” by Anthony Vance

The Kind of Faith that Doesn’t Bring Salvation | John 2:23-25 | Anthony Vance
“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in His Name when they saw the signs that He was doing. But Jesus on His part did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for He Himself knew what was in man.” -John 2:23-25

There is a kind of faith that does not bring salvation. The crowd in this passage had faith in Christ, but He didn’t have faith in them because He knew the hearts of men. They professed belief, but were not true believers. They hadn’t gone beyond the signs to embrace the Savior. The faith that brings salvation is genuine. -excerpts from “The Kind of Faith that Doesn’t Bring Salvation” by Anthony Vance
