“But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.” -Jonah 1:3
Are you running from the will of God? Are there things God has put upon your heart that you know you should do, but you’ve put them off?
-Steve Wainright (excerpt from Wednesday Evening Sermon from Jonah 1:1-3 “Running from God“)

Sunday Morning | Bro. Anthony Vance | James 5:13-20
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. -James 5:16
God wants His children to engage in prayer. There is power in praying and as children of God, we are all encouraged to pray.
4 Components of True Prayer
1) Right Person: one who is saved, submitted to the will of God, and sincere
2) Right Power: active, carries a force, communion with God that is energized by God
3) Right Passion: not cold or indifferent, but real and from the heart, involving a relationship
4) Right Purity: you cannot be fervent and effectual in prayer if you are harboring disobedience in your life
Sunday Evening| Bro. Dannie Wainright | Jonah
So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord. -Jonah 1:3
When you’re running from God, you’ll pay the fare. When the flesh dominates the spirit in your life, you’ll pay the fare.
Want to be blessed? Trust and obey.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20
Did you always think that St. Patrick was just a leprachaun? Well, Dr. Russell Moore wrote an interesting article today on “What Evangelicals Can Learn from Saint Patrick.” While we may not agree with everything St. Patrick believed, we should follow his example of fervor for the Great Commission.
[This article also reminded me of a little bit of Sunday’s lesson on Jonah…comment on any similarities you may have found!]
Sunday School | Jonah | Bro. Steve Dawson
“So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord.” -Jonah 3:3
Our obedience comes from being submissive to His Word daily. Be willing to say every day, “I will glorify You, Christ. Help me.”
Morning Worship | 1 Corinthians 10:1-13 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did.” -1 Corinthians 10:6
You have liberty in Christ. It should never lead you to self-indulgence. Your liberty should lead you to self-control.
(Israel’s liberty led them to self-indulgence, though God had brought them out of Egypt, guided them, protected them and provided for them. We are to learn from their example and not lust after evil things, rather pursue the only One Who can satisfy our deepest needs.)

As I was Granny-sitting, unfortunately I was not able to hear my dad’s sermon on Leviticus. However, I did have the privilege of listening to a sermon on the resurrection by Bro. Sugrim Ramesar that I encourage you to check out! [Just As He Said] So, I’ll share one truth that the Holy Spirit made most clear to me…and a beautiful truth it is!
“…Who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” -Romans 4:25
God raising Christ from the dead shows that His payment for our sins was accepted!
