Scripture at Sunrise 11.15.2021

“He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.” -John 14:21

Your knowledge and understanding of God is more than coming to church. It is daily walking with Him, learning with Him, and saying, “I will obey.” -Josh Wilson (excerpts from Wednesday Evening Sermon “The Importance of God’s Word” from 1 Peter 1:22-2:1; 2 Timothy 2:15

Scripture at Sunrise 06.02.2021

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” -2 Chronicles 7:14

Not praying is a form of pride. We often just seek the hand of God, not His face. We should seek His presence. -Josh Wilson (excerpts from Wednesday Evening Sermon “The People God Has” from 2 Chronicles 7:14)

Scripture at Sunrise 05.26.2021

“And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.” -Hosea 2:15

You cannot have hope without judgment. One of the greatest mercies and blessings of God in your life is Him judging and exposing your sin. Our sin must be dealt with openly and honestly. -Josh Wilson (excerpts from Sunday Evening Sermon “A Door of Hope” from Hosea 2:15)

Scripture at Sunrise 8.24.2020

“Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.  Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.” -Isaiah 50:10-11

Those of greatest devotion may experience some of the deepest darkness. It is often in the dark times of our life that our own faith grows the most.

-Bro. Josh Wilson (excerpts from Sunday Evening Sermon from Isaiah 50:3-4, 10-11Walking in Darkness)

Scripture at Sunrise 7.29.2020

“The blood of Jesus Christ was special because of the One who poured it out.” -Joshua Wilson

Scripture at Sunrise 11.20.2019

“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” -Matthew 21:12-13

“The Lord will disrupt our lives and turn over tables for our good to get our attention and make us more like Christ.” -Josh Wilson

-excerpt from Josh Wilson’s Wednesday Evening sermon from Matthew 21: When God Cleans House

Scripture at Sunrise 10.9.2019

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.” -1 Samuel 30:6

Encourage yourself in the Lord. Your circumstances may not change, but your attitude towards them will. -excerpts from Joshua Wilson’s Sunday Evening Sermon: “When All Else Fails” from 1 Samuel 30:1-6 (Listen here)

Scripture at Sunrise 7.1.2019

“For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live: But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.” -Amos 5:4-5

The Israelites were focused on the place (Bethel), but what made it special was that God met them there! If there is anything special about this building, it will be because God meets us here. We need the presence of God.

“But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed…” -Romans 6:17

Truth in the mind will affect the heart, and then it will affect the will without being forced to. –excerpt from Josh Wilson’s Sunday Morning Sermon

Scripture at Sunrise 3.13.2019

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:1-3

As Christians, we are running a race that God has set before us. As we run, we must remember the witnesses, relinquish the weights, renounce the sin, and run with patience. Look unto Jesus and keep your focus on Him, observing His ways, and patterning your life after Him. -Josh Wilson from 3/10 Evening Sermon (audio below)
