“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30

“Rest time is not waste time. It is economy to gather fresh strength…It is wisdom to take occasional furlough. In the long run, we shall do more by sometimes doing less.” -Charles Spurgeon

Sunday Evening Sermon Audio: The Distortion of the SabbathJohn 5:16 (Anthony Vance)
“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30

The Sabbath was intended to be a blessing, but the Jewish leaders had distorted the laws regarding the Sabbath, making it a burden. There is no rest in trying to keep the Pharisees’ law, but there is rest in Christ.
