Scripture at Sunrise 12.07.2020

“By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.” -Hebrews 11:27-29

The greatest challenge in your life to be a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ is to overcome fear. Oftentimes, we do not live as godly as we should because we fear that people will make fun of us.

-Pastor Steve Wainright (excerpts from Sunday Morning Sermon
“I Want a Faith Like Moses”from Hebrews 11:27-29)

Scripture at Sunrise 11.30.2020

“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.” -Hebrews 11:24-26

Just as Moses left Egypt behind, Christ left the splendors of Heaven and came into the world that He might identify with God’s people. He became sin for us.

-Pastor Steve Wainright (excerpts from Sunday Morning Sermon Are Your Decisions Based on Faith?from Hebrews 11:24-26)

Scripture at Sunrise 3.20.2019

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” -1 Corinthians 15:17-20

Genesis ends with Joseph’s death. Deuteronomy ends with Moses’ death. Joshua ends with Joshua’s death. Gospels end with Jesus’ resurrection. And that changes everything. —Tony Merida

Scripture at Sunrise 1.23.2019

“He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the people of Israel.” -Psalm 103:7

How you live your life daily shows how you view who God is. The view Moses had of God changed his life. Be mindful and aware of God’s presence.

“He made known His ways to Moses.” Get in God’s Word. He will show you His ways. Moses knew God’s way because he spent time with God. -excerpts from Pastor Steve’s 1/16 sermon (Listen at the link below)

Scripture at Sunrise 6.22.09

Sunday School | 1 Peter 2:1-12 | Bro. Steve Dawson
“Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.”  -1 Peter 2:2-3
We have to be nourished or we are vulnerable to the enemies in our spiritual battles.

Morning Worship | Colossians 3:18-19 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.  Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.”  -Colossians 3:18-19
-Marriage is not about what you can get out of it, but what you can give into it.
-Look at how God has loved you in spite of yourself.
-Love “incarnationally,” meaning “Flesh it out.”  Live it out!
-As husbands love, there is submission.
-Wives and husbands are equal, but husbands have been given the authority.  (Galatians 3:28, 1 Corinthians 11:3, Philippians 2:5-11, Ephesians 5:21)
-If you want a heavenly home on earth, practice these principles in God’s Word.

Evening Worship | Exodus 34:1-7 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.'”  -Exodus 34:6-7
-God was willing to renew His covenant with Israel.
-vs. 4- Moses was eager to meet God.  He got up early in anticipation.
-vs. 5- God still had to come down to man to meet Him where He was, even though he was on a mountain.  The same is true in our lives.
-vs. 6- God revealed Himself to Moses by proclaiming His Name.  He reveals Himself to us by His Word as well.  Moses didn’t see something spectacular, He heard the Lord proclaiming His Name.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
-vs. 7- Attributes of God: merciful, gracious, longsuffering, abundant in lovingkindness, true, forgiving, just
-This passage shows us we need Crist.  Thankfully, we have a compassionate High Priest (Hebrews 4:12).
-Jesus Christ satisfied the justice and wrath of God.  (Romans 3:26)  “‘Til on that cross as Jesus died the wrath of God was satisfied.  For every sin on Him was laid, here in the death of Christ, I live!”  [In Christ Alone]

Scripture at Sunrise 6.15.09

Sunday School | 1 Peter 1:13-25 | Bro. Steve Dawson
“…so that your faith and hope are in God.”  –1 Peter 1:21
hope= a Christian attitude toward the future, trusting in what God will do tomorrow
faith= believing fully that He has done all things He promised in the past
>Read Romans 4:13-25 in connection with this passage!

Sunday Morning Worship | Colossians 3:16 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”  –Colossians 3:16
-Worship should be in every aspect of your life, not just on Sunday morning.
-Saturate yourself in the Word of Christ.
-If we present our bodies as an act of worship (Romans 12:1), the Word of Christ MUST dwell in us richly.
-Ephesians 5:18-20- Emphasis in worship is the Spirit of God, to be filled of the Spirit and empty of self.  Be filled with the Spirit and with the Word!
-The biggest problem in worship is self.  Worship is focused on Jesus Christ.  It all revolves around HIM!
-God’s Word gives a different outlook on life.
-Don’t just know it, but let it dwell in you richly.  Christ is a part of you.  He dwells in you richly.
*Get in the Word.  Get the Word in you.  Get to know Him through His Word.
-It’s how often the Word has been through you, not how many times have you been through the Word!
-wisdom=having knowledge and being able to put it into practice (applying knowledge)
-As you do all this, teach, admonish, sing.
-Truth to a tune sticks.
-Express the Word with your singing.
When you’re mumbly, grumbly, depressed…SING!  Give Thanks!  You can’t stay that way!
-If you can’t give thanks or sing, you’re not letting the Word dwell in you richly.
*Do you read, study, memorize your Bible?  If not, you are being disobedient and bringing shame to Christ’s Name.
*Worship in every aspect of your life.

Sunday Evening Worship | Exodus 33:12-23 | Pastor Steve Wainright
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  -John 1:14
-God lets us in on His conversation with Moses in the Tent of Meeting.
-Moses pleads his case with God’s promises.  Base your prayers on the promises of God…you will be sure to line up with God’s will.
Moses wanted to know the WAY of God, not just His WORKS.  (Psalm 103:7)
-We can know the ways of God through the Word of God.  (Colossians 3:16, John 17:3, Philippians 3:8)
-Typeology: Moses as mediator (Christ is our mediator); vs. 17- God answers Moses’ request based on His love for Moses…the same is true in our life.
-Moses wanted to see God’s glory.
-To know Christ is to know God.  (John 14:8)
-Do you desire to know Him more?
-He reveals Himself through His Word as you desire that.  (Colossians 3:16)
-The more you learn of Him, the more you love Him.
