“Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.” -Nehemiah 2:4

To be a better servant of the Lord, we must be patient, show respect to those in authority, have a lifestyle of prayer, give God the glory, expect opposition, pick your battles, and understand that the battle belongs to the Lord. Have faith in Him! (excerpts from Sunday Evening Sermon “Being a Servant of the Lord” from Nehemiah 2)

Nehemiah 9-13
“And the people blessed all the men who willingly offered to live in Jerusalem.” -Nehemiah 11:2
Are you willing to make any sacrifice for the glory of God?

Sunday Morning | Steve Wainright
“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
-Colossians 3:1-4
*We think the world revolves around us, but it doesn’t—it revolves around the SON.
*Everything makes sense only when you look at things in light of your relationship with Christ.
*We are no longer the center of our life…Christ is!
*The more heavenly minded you are, the more you will have an impact on the world and the people around you.  Only when our minds are focused on Him can we make a difference.

Sunday Evening | A.J. Hensley
“I will be with you…Be strong and courageous…” -Joshua 1:1-9
Listening to A.J. reminded me a little bit of the life of Nehemiah like we have been studying in Sunday School.  Nehemiah was an ordinary guy who did extraordinary things with God’s hand upon him.  A.J. was an ordinary firefighter whom the Lord is using to do great things to further the kingdom of God in Caraguatatuba, Brazil!

“So they strenghtened their hands for the good work.”  -Nehemiah 2:18
Ride around your own broken walls and strengthen the weak parts.

Sunday Morning by Steve Wainright
“And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands.  This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”  -Colossians 2:13-14
Canceling the record of debt~my sins have my autograph on them; He blots it out…washes it out.  It’s gone!  (Papyri is washable, remember!!!!)

Sunday Evening by Steve Wainright
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”  -1 Corinthians 10:31
Use every talent God has blessed you with for His glory!  Do it beautifully!  God has made soething beautiful out of our lives and we are a trophy of His grace!
