Scripture at Sunrise 6.21.2017

“Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay My vengeance upon them.” -Ezekiel 25:17
Israel had many godless neighbors and was not a witness like they should have been. Likewise, when we compromise and become tolerant of sin, our witness has no weight. –excerpt from Steve Wainright’s Wednesday Evening Sermon

8 Keys to Power in Your Witness as learned from the life of Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:7-15

1. Humble yourself. (vs. 7)- Paul humbled himself under God’s mighty hand (James 4:10), admitting he was nothing, but there was a treasure inside of him.

2. God must be your rock and foundation. (vs. 8-9)- He had great hope because he knew God was in control no matter what was going on in his life.

3. Must be willing to give your life for converts and new Christians. (vs. 10-12)- Paul gave his life and was willing to suffer that others might grow spiritually. He consistently poured out his life so that others might be saved. (Acts 16:23-34; 20:23-24; 21:30-31)

4. If you really believe, you will speak. (vs. 13)- Paul was bold in his witness because of his belief. He had to share the truth because of the way it had impacted his life. He was faithful to the message that had been given to him. (2 Timothy 4:3; Psalm 116- Both the psalmist and Paul had deep-rooted conviction.)

5. Realize that the worst man can do to you is kill you, which just ushers you into the presence of the Lord. (vs. 14a; Romans 8:11)

6. Know you will be raised up and presented before God Himself, faultless before His throne! (vs. 14b; Jude 24)

7. Paul did everything he did in order for others to be saved. (vs. 15a)

8. Know that the more people are saved, the more thanksgiving goes to God, and more people give God the glory. It’s like a crescendo. (vs. 15b)

If you’ve believed, you need to speak that the thanksgiving of many might abound to the glory of God.
