Sunday Morning | Pastor Steve Wainright | Luke 18:26-34
“But they understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.” -Luke 18:34
If everything was revealed, you wouldn’t grown in your faith. When God conceals and we don’t understand, He says, “Trust Me.”
Even though these disciples in Luke 18 did not understand, they continued to follow Jesus. They continued to trust. And in God’s perfect time, He revealed truth to them. They remembered these words in Luke 24 at time of the Resurrection.
So when you don’t understand, continue to trust.
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved…” -Ephesians 2:4-5
The law reveals how quick we are to run from God; the gospel reveals how quick God is to run after us. –Tullian Tchividjian’s Twitter
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” -2 Corinthians 12:9
I learned He never gives a thorn without this added grace, He takes the thorn to pin aside the veil which hides His face. -MSN
