Sunday Morning| Pastor Steve Wainright | You Can’t Outgive God | Philippians 4:14-19
“I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:18-19

One cannot become poor by giving to the Lord.

Sunday Morning | Pastor J. Anthony Vance | How God Saves Sinners | John 1:1-13
“But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” -John 1:12-13

We are not children of God by attainment. It is not merited, worked for, or earned. We do not deserve to be called children of God. Becoming a child of God is a matter of God giving you something, not you earning it.

Scripture at Sunrise 9.7.2015

Sunday Morning | Pastor Steve Wainright | Righteousness Rejected | Philippians 3:2-9
“But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—” -Philippians 3:7-9

Paul had the righteousness of the law outwardly, but struggled inwardly. If salvation could be worked for, Paul would have been close to attaining it. However, all that Paul had credited to his account, he put in the ‘Loss’ column.

What does God see in your life? Does He look and see you trying to attain righteousness or does He see Christ’s perfect righteousness?

Scripture not-quite-at Sunrise 7.20.2015

Sunday Evening | Pastor Steve Wainright | The Demise of Solomon  | 1 Kings 11
“Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your Name.” -Psalm 86:11

Everything had been going great for King Solomon, but he loved many women who the Lord had instructed him not to marry. His heart became divided and he was half-hearted in his worship to God.

You must follow steadfast after the Lord. Stick to His Word!

Sunday Evening | Pastor Steve Wainright | Solomon’s Building Program | 1 Kings 9:10-28
“And Hiram sent with the fleet his servants, seamen who were familiar with the sea, together with the servants of Solomon. And they went to Ophir and brought from there gold, 420 talents, and they brought it to King Solomon.” -1 Kings 9:27-28

Solomon had knowledge of the true and living God, but sent men out to acquire wealth instead of sharing this knowledge. God has not put us on the earth to gain wealth, but to spread the knowledge of the glory of God.

God has put you in the paths of different people–not to gain, but to give.

Sunday Evening | Pastor Steve Wainright | That the World May Know | 1 Kings 8:12-66
“…that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no other.” -1 Kings 8:60

The purpose of our existence is to make God known–to make Him famous, that all the world may know that the Lord is God.

May our lives show forth the joy of the Lord that is our strength, that all the world may know that He is God.

Sunday Morning | Pastor Steve Wainright | Rejoicing in Trials of Ministry | Philippians 1:15-18
“What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.” -Philippians 1:18

Paul had a lot of problems and his pastor’s heart sincerely felt the needs of his people, but he saw how all his problems led to the advance of the Gospel, so he rejoiced!

Live your life to share the Word of Christ with a lost and dying world. This will compound your problems, but you know what you’ll also find in the mess of ministry? Joy.

Sunday Evening | Pastor Steve Wainright | Solomon’s Source of Wisdom | 1 Kings 3
At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.” -1 Kings 3:5

God knew what Solomon needed before he even asked, but still wanted him to come to Him and ask. He desires for us to commune with Him.

Sunday Evening | Pastor Steve Wainright | Conspiracy, Coronation, Compassion | 1 Kings 1:1-53
Now Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, “I will be king.”  -1 Kings 1:5

Exalting yourself is deceiving yourself. Promotion comes from God. (Psalm 75:6-7) Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and He will lift you up. (James 4:10)

Sunday Morning | Pastor Steve Wainright | Bear One Another’s Burdens | Galatians 6:2-6
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” -Galatians 6:2

God is calling you to lighten the load of other people. Are you willing to get up under the weight of the burdens of others and help carry? You can only do this by the Spirit. God uses us to comfort one another and His love can flow through you!
