Scripture at Sunrise 11.6.2017

“What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For He says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.’ So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.” -Romans 9:14-16

God is absolutely sovereign. Mercy is not an obligation. It’s not something you deserve. God’s mercy is not based on what you do, it is based on His compassion.  –excerpts from Steve Wainright’s Sunday Morning Sermon

Scripture at Sunrise 9.21.2015

Sunday Morning | Pastor J. Anthony Vance | How God Saves Sinners | John 1:1-13
“But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” -John 1:12-13

We are not children of God by attainment. It is not merited, worked for, or earned. We do not deserve to be called children of God. Becoming a child of God is a matter of God giving you something, not you earning it.
