Sunday MorningSqueezing Joy Out of Sorrow | Romans 5:2-5 (Steve Wainright)
“Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”  -Romans 5:2-5

It is inevitable that we will all have trouble. Do we really boast in our troubles? In our suffering? How can we squeeze joy out of sorrow?
When you’re squeezed and twisted in all areas of your life, God is producing joy. In suffering, the believer sees something greater: they see God’s hand at work.
He squeezes us all in different ways. When pressure is applied, something greater is being squeezed out of your life. In your squeezing, are you boasting about God or complaining about your circumstances?
The child of God can boast in tribulations for God has a higher purpose than we can see.
