Scripture at Sunrise 11.12.2020

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.” -Isaiah 49:15

“He who counts the stars and calls them by name is in no danger of forgetting His children.” -Spurgeon

Scripture at Sunrise 7.21.2020

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” -Daniel 12:3

Here is something to wake me up. This is worth living for. To be wise is a noble thing in itself: in this place it refers to a divine wisdom which only the Lord Himself can bestow. Oh, to know myself, my God, my Savior! May I be so divinely taught that I may carry into practice heavenly truth and live in the light of it! Is my life a wise one? Am I seeking that which I ought to seek? Am I living as I shall wish I had lived when I come to die? Only such wisdom can secure for me eternal brightness as of yonder sunlit skies.

To be a winner of souls is a glorious attainment. I had need to be wise if I am to turn even one to righteousness; much more if I am to turn many, Oh, for the knowledge of God, of men, of the Word, and of Christ, which will enable me to convert my fellowmen and to convert large numbers of them! I would give myself to this, and never rest till I accomplish it. This will be better than winning stars at court. This will make me a star, a shining star, a star shining forever and ever; yea, more, it will make me shine as many stars. My soul, arouse thyself. Lord, quicken me!

Scripture at Sunrise 9.10.09

“Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.”  -Isaiah 40:26

NASA has just released some photos from the refurbished Hubble Telescope, reminding us of the vast creativity and majesty of the God of the Universe.  The same Creator of this beautiful universe loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us.  Wow!

Scripture at Sunrise 4.3.09

“Behold, even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure in His eyes; how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm!”  -Job 25:5-6

He is the most Holy of all kings.  His throne is a great white throne—unspotted and clear as crystal.  “The stars are not pure in His sight.  How much less man, that is a worm?”  (Job 25:5-6)  With what lowliness should you draw near to Him.  Familiarity there may be, but let it not be unhallowed.  Boldness there should be, but let it not be impertinent.  You are still on earth, and He in Heaven.  You are still a worm of the dust, and He the Everlasting.  Before the mountains were brought forth, He was God, and if all created things should pass away, yet He would still be the same.  I am afraid we do not bow as we should before the Eternal Majesty.  Let us ask the Spirit of God to put us in a right frame, that every one of our prayers may be a reverential approach to the Infinite Majesty above.
