Scripture at Sunrise 01.10.2022

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”  -1 Peter 1:13-16

“If you are going to live a life of holiness, it starts with your mind. It does not start with what you do, but who you are.” -Pastor Steve Wainright (excerpt from Sunday Morning Sermon from 1 Peter 1:13-16)

Sunday Morning| Pastor Steve Wainright | What Do You Think? | Philippians 4:8-9
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” -Philippians 4:8-9

What you think determines how you live. Thoughts turn to action. How’s your thought life?

Scripture at Sunrise 8.8.2011

“But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” -2 Corinthians 11:3

Satan deceived Eve subtly. He desires to corrupt people’s minds, to lead them astray from Christ to worship other gods.

Christ demands total devotion. An undivided heart. Satan offers pleasure of sin for a season, but then comes pain from the consequences.

He desires to corrupt your thoughts. What you THINK is so important: doctrinally and morally. If your thoughts are not pure, your devotion will not be pure.

Stay focused and remain pure for the Day when we are joined with Christ forever. Let your life be consumed with God!
