“Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.” -2 Chronicles 18:1

Be careful who you join with, who you come alongside, who you partner with, and who you buddy with. Don’t be unequally yoked.

Listen to good counsel. Take heed to words of wisdom from those who are older and godly.

Scripture at Sunrise 5.23.2011

“Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” -James 4:4

2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers because you cannot go hand-in-hand on spiritual matters with unbelievers and will most likely end up compromising truth. (vs. 14)

1)vs. 14- What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? How can right and wrong go together? They can’t.
Our righteousness is found in Christ alone. (2 Corinthians 5:21) Unbelievers don’t have that righteousness. (Matthew 7:23)

2)vs. 14- What communion hath light with darkness?
Matthew 5:16; 1 Peter 2:9- When you’re shining and zealous for good works, you’re peculiar. People become thirsty for what makes you different: the Gospel.

3)vs. 15- What communion does Christ have with Belial (=worthless)?
Satan is worthless. Jesus alone is worthy.

4)vs. 16-18- What agreement hath the temple of God with idols?
Behind every idol we make in our mind is demonic doctrine. (2 Kings 21:1-16; John 1:12)

Because of these promises, fear Him and mature in holiness. (7:1)
