Scripture at Sunrise 1.18.10

Morning Worship | Bro. Steve Dawson | “Taking the Mystery Out of Knowing God’s Will

1)You must be saved.
[Romans 8:8, John 6:35-40]
You cannot walk in His will without knowing Him as your Savior and Lord.

2)You must be Spirit-filled and Spirit-controlled.
[Ephesians 5:15-18]
The Word is inseparable from the Spirit.  Saturate your life with the Word.

3)You must be sanctified.
[1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, Deuteronomy 14:2]

4)You must be submissive.
[James 4:7, Ephesians 5:21-25]

5)You must suffer.
[2 Corinthians 12:7-10, Philippians 1:29, John 15:19, Revelation 6:9-11, Romans 8:36]

6)You must be thankful.
[1 Thessalonians 5:16, Psalm 37:1-5]
No matter what comes your way, you can be thankful because you can know He’s working for your good.

*If you’re doing these things, you are in the will of God.  He will take care of the rest!

Evening Worship | Bro. Jason Estes | Leviticus 16:1-34
*The book of Leviticus presents type after type of what would be accomplished through the redemptive work of Christ.
*Atonement=compensation for a wrong, reparation of a broken relationship…
*Day of Atonement=Yom Kippur (once a year), fulfilled in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 9-10)

1) vs. 1-2- Intro: Warning about the danger of approaching God inappropriately
2)vs. 3-5- What is necessary for the High Priest to enter (Animals and Special Clothing)
3)vs. 6-10-Summary of ceremonies necessary for people to worship God
4)vs. 11-34- Sprinkling of Blood Ritual (Hebrews 9:22), Scapegoat (Romans 3:25, Hebrews 10:4, 2 Corinthians 5:21), Cleansing, Perpetual Nature

*The finality of Jesus’ work made these rituals obsolete!  (Read Hebrews 9-10!)

A few things we see at the end of all this in Hebrews…
>Draw near to Him with assurance and boldness.
>Persevere.  Seek and hunger after His righteousness.
>Encourage each other to love and obedience.
>Don’t miss church.
