Scripture after Sunrise 1.20.2020

“For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.” -Philemon 7

Do people sense the goodness and greatness and presence of God when you come around? Does your life bring joy and comfort to other people’s lives? Does it bring consolation (rest) to others? Only through Christ can this happen.

-Steve Wainright (excerpts from Sunday morning sermon from Philemon 4-7 — A Christian Refresher)

Scripture at Sunrise 4.26.2018

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” -Hebrews 13:5
Your life will probably not play out like you want. But the one who writes a better story will be with you in every trial. -Desiring God via Twitter

Scripture at Sunrise 5.2.2011

“We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way…” -2 Corinthians 6:3-4

Paul’s life was an example of the grace of God not being received in vain. He wanted nothing in his ministry to be a stumbling block. (Romans 14:13, 1 Corinthians 8:9)

How to be sure you won’t be a stumbling block to others: Live in the light of God’s Word. (1 John 2:10)

Are you living your life in such a way that others see Christ and not you? Your life is the most eloquent advertisement for the Gospel that there is. Are you a good ad or bad ad?
