Sunday Morning Sermon: Assurance of Salvation through Justification | Romans 5:1 | Steve Wainright
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” –
Romans 5:1

If you misunderstand the doctrine of justification, you cannot have the joy of someone who has full assurance of their salvation. Justification happens at a particular point in time…it’s a completed action! It is only because of God’s grace that we are justified (declared righteous, declared to be in a right standing with God).

Sunday Morning Sermon: Abraham’s FaithRomans 4:17-25 | Steve Wainright
No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in Him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. –Romans 4:20-25

Abraham was not justified by his works. He was made right with God through faith in His promise. We need that same faith as Abraham.
Looking at the objects around us instead of God creates a weak faith. It’s the object of Abraham’s faith that counted. He did not look at the circumstances around him, but at God.
When human impossibility faces the possibility of God breaking His Word, God always fulfills His promise.

Sunday Evening Sermon: The True Identity of Jesus Christ | John 4:25-26 | Anthony Vance
The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.” –John 4:25-26

If Christ’s claims are true, then He is deserving of our whole life.

Sunday Morning Sermon: Experiencing Blessedness| Romans 4:4-8 | Steve Wainright
Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”

The only way you can have a right standing with God is because Jesus Christ has done something for you.

Sunday Morning Sermon: A Sinner’s Spiritual Ignorance | John 4:11-19 | Anthony Vance
The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.” -John 4:15

Be patient with who you are talking to as the Lord is the One who has to turn on their spiritual comprehension.

Sunday Morning Sermon: One God, One Way | Romans 3:29-31 | Steve Wainright
“Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.” -Romans 3:29-30

There is only one God and only one way to be saved. The Jews were guilty of limiting God to just themselves, but the Gospel is for all nations and all people groups.

Sunday Evening Sermon: God’s Providence in Evangelism | John 4:1-10 | Anthony Vance
“Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John (although Jesus Himself did not baptize, but only His disciples), He left Judea and departed again for Galilee. And He had to pass through Samaria. So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there; so Jesus, wearied as He was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.” -John 4:1-6

God is able to use ordinary circumstances to bring about extraordinary conversations that could lead to miraculous conversions.

Sunday Morning Sermon: A Deeper Look at the Cross | Romans 3:25 | Steve Wainright
“Whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins.” -Romans 3:25

God the Father has set forth Jesus Christ to be a propitiation. Like the mercy seat on the ark of the covenant, Christ protects us from the wrath of God.

Sunday Evening Sermon: Christ’s Superiority | John 3:31-36 | Anthony Vance
“The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” -John 3:35-36

Every person’s eternal destiny hinges on their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sunday Morning Sermon: Dressed in His Righteousness | Romans 3:21-23 | Steve Wainright
“But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction…” -Romans 3:21-22

There is a great division between man and God, but God has solved this problem! The law was given so it could warn man that he needed a sacrifice for his sins. At the same time God gave the law in the Old Testament, He provided the sacrificial lamb to give the righteousness of God. The law wasn’t good enough. The righteousness we need comes to us by faith in Christ.
